Radiologic Technologist

Shift: Part time

Under direct supervision, responsible for operating and maintaining x-ray equipment and taking x-rays of various portions of the body to assist radiologist in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.

• Able to demonstrate fundamental knowledge and skill necessary to provide care and imaging to pediatric adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Self-motivated and directed.
• Ability to absorb and incorporate new ideas, concepts and processes quickly.
• Comfortable working with computers and large pieces of technological equipment.
• Must be able to work in a fast pace and high volume environment.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.

EDUCATION:

• Associate's of Applied Science Degree, or the successful completion of an approved two-year (2) program in radiologic technology is required.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION:

• ARRT certification, or eligibility for registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.

EXPERIENCE

• 1 year minimum 

• Operates and maintains x-ray equipment and takes x-rays of various portions of the body as ordered by the provider while practicing radiation protection techniques at all times.
• Prepares patients for x-ray by administering drugs or chemical mixtures orally or intravenously; transfers.
• Assists patient as needed to include transferring, positioning and providing instructions regarding the procedure.
• Selects appropriate imaging parameters and operates console and peripheral hardware e.g. stands, positioning device, and any other devices/equipment used in radiology.
• Performs quality assurance on radiographs for optimal imaging; places service calls on equipment as needed.
• Maintains exam room cleanliness and stocks supplies.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
