Requirements
  • An Associate of Science degree from an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification is required at hire.
  • Radiologic Technologist certification is required at hire.
  • Integrative Agitation Management certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions and work professionally with or without supervision.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, physicians, and staff.
  • Knowledge of departmental technical procedures and ability to perform procedures accurately, safely, and efficiently.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures.
  • Ability to input computer data accurately and efficiently.
  • Knowledge comparable to college-level instruction in anatomy, physiology, universal precautions, sterile procedure, occupational and radiation safety, mathematics, physics, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to operate treatment equipment.
  • Familiarity with current radiation therapy theory and practice and new developments in radiation therapy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift and position adult patients for radiation procedures.
  • Ability to lift and position treatment blocks weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to observe patient skin markings.
  • Ability to accurately assess patient condition for ongoing treatment.
  • Ability to learn new technology and procedures.
  • Measles, mumps, varicella, and annual influenza immunizations are required as a condition of employment and annually thereafter.
Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, professional, and compassionate radiation therapy to adult patients as directed by a Radiation Oncologist.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree or above.
  • Three or more years of radiation therapy technologist experience in a progressive radiation oncology department.
