Second Front Systems (2F) is seeking a motivated Director of FP&A to support our team. We are a fast-growing entrepreneurial team working at the convergence of technology and national security. The work will be dynamic and wide-ranging, working closely with teams to enable the deployment and scale of our Game Warden platform and future product offerings.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will play a critical role in the financial management and decision-making processes of 2F. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis for the organization. This role is instrumental in providing strategic financial insights, identifying opportunities for cost optimization, and supporting decision-making at the executive level. The Director of FP&A collaborates with departments across the entire company to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Note: This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Using the planning tool Mosaic, develop and maintain the organization’s annual financial plan and quarterly forecast.
- Collaborate with business units and department heads to gather data and assumptions for accurate forecasting.
- Continuously monitor and analyze financial performance against forecasts and budgets.
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads and executives to establish financial targets and goals.
- Track budget versus actual performance and provide regular updates to management.
- Provide insightful financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and scenario modeling, to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare financial reports, summaries, and insights for the CFO to present to the executive team and board of directors.
- Communicate financial results and recommendations clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, proposing strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the industry and market trends that may impact the organization’s financial performance.
- Utilize utilization of financial planning and analysis tools and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements, including tax filings and audits.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Several years of progressively responsible experience in FP&A, with a proven track record of leadership, execution and strategic thinking.
- Strong financial modeling, data analysis, and forecasting skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, Mosaic, ERP systems, financial planning software, etc).
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and chaos in a fast paced, high growth environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior executives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in high growth start-up environments a plus.
- Have a strong interest in matters of national security.
