50,000 episodes in 90 days: inside Crunchyroll's global anime supply chain. Crunchyroll unified 50,000+ episodes and 400,000+ localisation components in 90 days. Here is the cloud workflow behind the migration. MediaLinkPro Editor September 3, 2026 · 0 Moving one series into a streaming platform is a delivery job. Moving an anime business built from two catalogues is closer to rebuilding a supply chain while it is still serving customers. Crunchyroll, working with TMT Insights and SDVI, reports that it reconciled and rationalised more than 50,000 episodes, migrated over 400,000 localisation components and completed the core transformation in 90 days. The same platform has since delivered more than 4.2 million assets. Those figures explain why this project is on the IBC 2026 Innovation Awards longlist - and why the real story is not simply "moving files to the cloud." The Crunchyroll, TMT Insights and SDVI media-supply-chain project is longlisted in the Content Distribution category of the IBC 2026 Innovation Awards. Image: TMT Insights. The project followed the unification of the Crunchyroll and Funimation libraries. That created an unusually difficult operations problem: episode masters, subtitles, dubs, artwork, technical metadata, rights information and destination requirements all had to become one dependable content foundation. This article looks at the architecture behind that consolidation, what a 90-day migration really implies, and why late-binding localisation matters far beyond anime. A library merger is a metadata problem wearing a storage problem's coat. At first glance, the headline number is 50,000 episodes. But an episode is not one object. A global streaming service may need a video master, multiple audio mixes, subtitle and caption files, artwork, text metadata, compliance versions and delivery packages for different territories or partners. The relationship among those elements is what makes an episode publishable. Minimum daily averages derived from TMT Insights' reported migration of 50,000+ episodes and 400,000+ localisation components over 90 days. Rounded to the nearest whole item. Anime fans, Crunchyroll is bringing something big to Abu Dhabi. 4 hours ago Crunchyroll is heading to Middle East Film & Comic Con for the first time, giving UAE anime fans a dedicated presence from one of the industry's biggest streaming platforms when MEFCC 2026 opens in Abu Dhabi next month. The company will make its UAE event debut at ADNEC Center from September 11 to 13, taking over booth N11 and sponsoring MEFCC's Otaku District. Its presence will combine merchandise, giveaways and interactive attractions built around some of anime's most recognisable franchises. JUJUTSU KAISEN fans will be able to try a Reaction Wall, a reflex-based game that challenges visitors to hit illuminated targets and compete for higher scores. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba gets a more camera-friendly attraction, with a large Tanjiro Kamado inflatable serving as a dedicated photo opportunity. Crunchyroll will also sell officially licensed anime merchandise spanning apparel, accessories and collectibles. Visitors can pick up promotional items including Crunchyroll sticker sheets, Solo Leveling posters and JUJUTSU KAISEN cards, although availability will presumably depend on supplies across the three-day event. The booth itself is fairly conventional convention fare, but Crunchyroll choosing MEFCC for its first UAE fan activation is more significant than the individual attractions. Anime has developed a substantial audience across the Middle East, and international entertainment companies have increasingly been treating the region as a market requiring localisation rather than simply distributing the same global offering.

One Piece English dub release dates confirm big change for major story arc. August 24, 2026 One Piece fans have a major reason to mark their calendars for October. Toei Animation and Crunchyroll have officially announced that the One Piece Elbaph Arc English dub will premiere on October 20, 2026, at 9:00 AM PT, starting with Episode 1156. New dubbed episodes will drop weekly every Tuesday. This marks a significant shift from the previous batch-release format long used for the series' English dub, bringing dubbed releases much closer to the ongoing broadcast pace. The episodes will be available on Crunchyroll across the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. The new weekly schedule comes as the Straw Hats begin their next major adventure. After escaping the Future Island Egghead, Luffy and his crew travel to Elbaph, the legendary Land of Giants. They also have the Giant Warrior Pirates by their side. Elbaph stands as one of the most anticipated destinations in One Piece history, having been teased for decades. The arc promises long-awaited reunions, formidable new foes, and major revelations as the Straw Hats continue their pursuit of the ultimate treasure. For English dub viewers, however, the release will be different this time. Previously, the dubbed episodes were released in multi-episode batches. The Elbaph Arc will instead follow a weekly schedule, keeping the dubbed version closer to the ongoing story. To celebrate the announcement, Crunchyroll released an English-dubbed clip from the Elbaph Arc, giving fans an early look at the crew's upcoming adventures. What is the full One Piece broadcast schedule like? Before the main series returns, Crunchyroll will debut One Piece Heroines. Its English, Spanish, and Portuguese dubs are scheduled to premiere on October 13, 2026, at 9:00 AM PT. The special focuses on Nami after a pair of ill-fitting shoes prevents her from stopping a group of thieves; upon returning to the shop for a refund, the head designer offers her a custom pair in exchange for walking in an upcoming fashion show. One week later, the Elbaph Arc English dub arrives on October 20, 2026, at 9 am PT with Episode 1156. Episode 1157 will follow on October 27, 2026, with new episodes releasing every Tuesday at 9:00 AM PT. Evolve Media is a publisher of leading enthusiast destinations.
