  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or related discipline from an ABET-accredited program
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, preferably in power generation or industrial facilities
  • Experience preparing and checking P&IDs, equipment specifications, and mechanical design deliverables
  • Experience or desire to work with design tools such as AFT Fathom, AFT Arrow, GT Pro, Steam Pro, and Thermoflex
  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid flow with specific experience in combined cycle plant performance, HRSG systems, steam turbine cycles, and gas turbine auxiliary systems
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to colleagues, suppliers, and clients
  • Flexibility to manage workload across multiple projects while upholding safety and quality standards
  • Proficiency in pipe sizing, flow calculations, and modelling of compressible/incompressible systems
  • Familiarity with piping materials, valves, control valves, and relief valve design
  • Commitment to mentoring, team collaboration, and maintaining strong professional relationships
Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical engineering design for combined cycle and simple cycle power generation systems, including equipment sizing, system modeling, and development of P&IDs
  • Lead and direct the mechanical engineering team assigned to a project to deliver high-quality power project designs while ensuring effective coordination, technical accuracy, and schedule requirements
  • Collaborate closely with multi-discipline engineering teams, clients, and external partners to ensure project technical success
  • Prepare calculations, schematics, technical documentation, and design deliverables with clear assumptions and references
  • Develop equipment specifications for pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, compressors, boilers, cooling systems, and balance-of-plant components
  • Support proposal development, cost estimation, and project execution planning as needed
  • Coordinate with equipment vendors, review submittals, and respond to technical inquiries
  • Maintain a strong commitment to quality assurance, safety, and compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME B31.1, ASME BPVC, NFPA, HEI, API, etc.)
  • Provide occasional field engineering support, including site visits, inspections, testing oversight, and construction support
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
  • Experience in engineering design services and project execution within the energy sector is strongly desirable

AtkinsRéalis Group, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company, reported fourth-quarter revenue of $2.9 billion, up 13% year-over-year, with full-year revenue reaching $11.0 billion, up 14%. AtkinsRéalis Services revenue increased 17% in Q4 and 16% for the full year. The company achieved diluted earnings per share from Professional Services & Project Management of $2.14 for 2025, up 80%, whilst adjusted diluted EPS reached $3.36, up 88%. Full-year operating cash flow totalled $461 million, and backlog reached a record $21.2 billion as at 31 December 2025. For 2026, AtkinsRéalis expects Engineering Services Regions organic revenue growth of 5-7% and Nuclear revenue of approximately $2.5 billion. Operating cash flow is projected at roughly $500 million.
