What you will do:

• Research and develop robust structure testing programs to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of autonomy capabilities development and deployment
• Design standard process to manage autonomy software and hardware tests from different stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with autonomy, validation and verification, data science, road test operations, vehicle teams to design, implement, and manage high quality test plans
• Lead vehicle development testing effort at public road
• Provide accurate and concise feedback and instruction to research and development teams using great engineering experience

What you will need:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related engineering field. 
• Strong experience in vehicle software and/or hardware related testing
• Strong communication and leadership skills to work across teams
• Knowledge of vehicle systems and troubleshooting skills

Preferred: 

• Prior experience as test engineer in autonomous vehicle development 
• Experience with both road testing
• Safety critical system development and production mindset with rigor product quality assurance standards

The expected salary range is $139,200 to $235,872 + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, training, and skill level, so may be higher or lower than what is shown on this posting. This job may be also eligible for additional discretionary bonuses and equities.

We are looking for a strong autonomous vehicle test engineer to join our Mountain View office to develop our leading autonomy development testing program. We use different levels of testing to drive our autonomous software and hardware development with high standards on our robotaxi customers’ safety and comfort.
