This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we’re developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin’s mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.

As a Threat Analyst II on the Cyber Security Threat Operations team, you will be the first line of defense in identifying and responding to potential security incidents. You will play a critical role in monitoring and improving our systems, analyzing threats, and handling escalated issues to ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of our data and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monitoring of security alerts from various sources, including EDR, SIEM tools, IDS/IPS, and other security platforms.
• Perform in-depth analysis and triage of security events, assessing their severity and potential organizational impact.
• Lead escalation efforts for complex incidents, providing enriched data, context, and strategic recommendations.
• Assist in the advanced configuration and optimization of security tools and solutions.
• Maintain comprehensive and detailed documentation of security events, responses, and investigative findings.
• Collaborate proactively with IT and cross-functional teams to implement and uphold security best practices.
• Provide expert support for security audits, compliance efforts, and vulnerability assessments.
• Stay informed and disseminate knowledge on the latest cyber threat trends, security technologies, and defense strategies.
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent advanced experience).
• 3+ years of experience in a cybersecurity role, specifically in network and security monitoring or incident response.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and sophisticated cyber threat vectors.
• Extensive experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, SSCP, GSEC, or CISSP.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with strategic foresight.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of guiding junior analysts and interfacing with stakeholder groups.
• Strong ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with strategic oversight.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate effectively and independently in a fast-paced, often high-pressure environments, with a team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion 
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

• Deep engagement in core cybersecurity principles and practices.
• Strong familiarity with identity and access management concepts.
• Awareness of current trends in endpoint security, threat landscapes, and cloud security principles.
• Extensive knowledge of compliance frameworks relevant to endpoint and enterprise controls (e.g., NIST, ISO, CIS).
• Experience with and an advanced interest in security automation and orchestration.
• In-depth understanding of incident response processes and procedures.
• Strong commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on emerging security technologies and threats.
