Reports to:    Production Manager - Performance Improvement Coordinator

General Expectations:

An AC Trainee is responsible for inspecting quality standards and implementing process improvement initiatives. The AC Trainee is tasked with ensuring team members know and can satisfactorily perform their required job tasks while adhering to all necessary safety, quality, and production standards.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Responsible for performing Quality inspections inline on the production floor. Responsible for training all team members to perform their tasks ensuring performance meets all safety, quality, and production standards outlined for the job.   Responsible for ensuring new initiatives are communicated to all required stakeholders to ensure compliance throughout the facility.    Responsible for raising concerns and using lean/six sigma methods to analyze problems and assist in problem solving Responsible for providing on the job coaching to ensure team members use proper home building techniques.   Establish necessary procedures to ensure that all quality expectations are met.  Ensures that new team members have all the resources needed to complete their job.  Help to find answers to team member questions.   Will participate in the Q360 follow-up meetings to brainstorm and solve high priority items within their area Responsible for assisting with documentation for their assigned areas including time studies, feedback notes, and training aids. Responsible for driving Absolutes of Craftsmanship in their designated area

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

Ability to use a computer and iPad and programs such as Word and Excel Knowledge of sales orders, engineering prints, product specifications, HUD DAPIA requirements and applicable building codes in multiple departments. Ability to properly train others on SAFETY protocols and standards. Knowledge of all CDs, SOPs, and AOCs from all departments where training is assigned. Ability to properly train others on policies and rules.

Education and Qualifications:

Be personable and patient while relating well to others from different backgrounds and experience levels.   Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles a plus Great listener Very high attention to detail is required. Thorough and disciplined.   Have ability to communicate clearly and openly in a professional World Class manner. Be able to explain processes and procedures in a way that makes complicated tasks easier.   Create calm out of a busy and chaotic environment.    Have practical problem-solving skills and the ability to suggest options and alternatives.
