Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, or similar field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role; with work on general ledger and financial accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of general accounting and SOX compliance.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office programs, including (but not limited to) Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Able to collaborate and work effectively to meet goals and objectives.
  • Welcomes change and embraces new processes, when needed.
  • Able to take direction, ask questions and meet deadlines.
  • Strong decision making, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly ethical.
Responsibilities
  • Journal entry preparation; general ledger account analysis and reconciliations; bank reconciliation; application of customer payment.
  • The General Accountant will also collaborate with the department's director on any special projects.
  • Manages aspects of fixed asset ledger.
  • Reviews monthly financial activity for accounts and company codes in the area of responsibility.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements.
  • Assists finance management with research and write-ups of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Works closely with finance management on day-to-day processes as well as special projects.
  • Must be committed to work overtime (when needed) to meet month-end close, year-end close, audits and other special projects.
