Requirements
  • A PhD in Developmental Biology, Functional Genetics, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Cell Biology, or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Good knowledge of genetics, immunology, and innovative techniques for generating transgenic animals.
  • Experience designing targeting and screening strategies, constructing and preparing vectors, analyzing data, and troubleshooting genetic engineering workflows.
  • Proficiency in CRISPR/Cas9 and advanced integration tools such as Recombinase-Mediated Cassette Exchange or site-specific integrases such as Bxb1.
  • High proficiency in polymerase chain reaction, western blotting, next-generation sequencing, plasmid construction, and nucleic acid purification.
  • Understanding of human immunology and repertoire generation mechanisms across species, including V(D)J recombination, gene conversion, and somatic hypermutation.
  • Experience functionally validating new in vivo models, including flow cytometry, cell sorting, and assessment of serum titers and binder affinity.
  • Foundational knowledge of animal physiology, husbandry, genotyping, and animal welfare.
  • Working knowledge of Geneious Prime, Benchling, and FlowJo.
  • Ability to own projects from initial dry-lab design through final wet-lab validation.
  • Ability to document scientific work accurately and communicate and present information clearly.
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement complex humanization strategies using state-of-the-art technologies to model the human immune repertoire across diverse research platforms.
  • Critically evaluate data, experimental approaches, and conclusions to ensure consistency and reliability.
  • Contribute new ideas and methods to address scientific challenges and support collaborative problem-solving.
  • Take initiative and move work forward while demonstrating ownership and accountability.
  • Build working relationships and support shared team goals.
  • Design and construct large-scale synthetic gene loci for next-generation discovery platforms.
  • Develop and characterize research models supporting therapeutic discovery.
  • Contribute to the creation of diverse systems for therapeutic antibody discovery, including bispecifics and VHHs.
