The Role

We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our rapidly growing company with the role reporting to the Chief Financial Officer.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the organization’s accurate and timely financial management, including but not limited to accounting operations, production of periodic financial reports, and maintenance of accounting records. Your primary responsibility will be to take full ownership of the day-to-day accounting function and manage a team of accounting professionals.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Take complete ownership of our day-to-day accounting, including planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
- Manage a four-person team in their daily responsibilities, reviewing their work and ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of accounting records and financial reports.
- Manage in-progress Netsuite transition.
- Prepare interim, year-end, and comparative financial reports. Perform and provide analysis of current results to prior periods and/or budget.
- Prepare all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial compliance reports for our investors, including our Board of Directors (Private Equity) and commercial lenders.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements and professional standards, including tax planning and compliance.
- Maintain the general ledger and all related accounts with proper documentation and records of all company transactions.
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close processes
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation to reduce the time to close and improve the accuracy of underlying accounting records
- Coordinate activities of external auditors and accountants
- Drive global standardization for procedures, processes, and documentation consistent with the standards of a public company
- Hire, train, manage, and retain skilled accounting staff as needed
- Drive process improvement, integration, and automation efforts to streamline accounting operations in Netsuite.
- Special projects and ad-hoc analyses as directed by management
Qualifications:
- B.A./B.S. in Accounting or Finance. CPA is strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in accounting/finance. 5-7 years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller is strongly preferred. Big 4 experience is a plus.
- Private Equity experience is a plus.
- Experience with Enterprise ERP is a must (Netsuite is required.)
- Deep understanding of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Strong technical and modeling skills are required
- Proactive nature and independent working style
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (complex formulas) and PowerPoint are required.
- Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, depth of analysis, and ability to contextualize hypothetical business situations
- Strong project management and time management skills are required. Should be comfortable working on several projects simultaneously and have the flexibility to prioritize based on the needs of the business
- Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
- Proven ability to work autonomously
- Must be a team player and self-starter
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships across the organization, are a must.
- Must have the ability to execute multiple tasks, be detail-oriented, committed to high quality, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment

The pay range for this position is $175,000-$250,000 per year. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the applicable law.
