Aurelian provides a Voice AI platform that automates non-emergency call handling for Emergency Communication Centers (ECCs). It uses conversational AI to route calls, triage incidents, and collect data for CAD in real time, potentially automating up to 80% of non-emergency calls to free dispatchers for true emergencies. It supports multilingual conversations, real-time call monitoring with transcripts, and open API CAD/CHE integration with geovalidation, with managed service handling call routing and system maintenance. Its goal is to modernize public safety communications by improving resource allocation and reducing dispatcher burnout while ensuring immediate escalation for true emergencies.

What believers are saying

  • Snohomish County 911 deployed Cora in December 2025, proving live workflow adoption.
  • Aurelian claims 35% of Washington agencies and over fifty public agencies.
  • Salt Lake City opened an AI call-handling RFP on July 16, 2026.

What critics are saying

  • One wrong emergency triage destroys trust and triggers liability after a 911 mishandling.
  • Prepared, Carbyne, and Hyper attack the same public-safety automation budget.
  • Municipal procurement cycles like Salt Lake City SLCI27013 stall revenue for years.

What makes Aurelian unique

  • Aurelian already handles live non-emergency calls, not just demos or pilots.
  • Cora and Ava share context across live intake and dispatcher checklists.
  • Agency-specific SOPs, CAD integration, and multilingual routing fit public-safety workflows.

Aurelian Launches Cora, an AI Copilot for 911 Call-Takers, with Snohomish County 911

Aurelian launches Cora, an AI copilot for 911 call-takers, with Snohomish County 911. SEATTLE - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Aurelian, the AI platform built exclusively for emergency communications centers (ECCs) and public safety answering points (PSAPs), today announced the launch of Cora, an on-screen AI copilot designed to support 911 call-takers during live emergency calls. SNO911, which handles emergency communications for nearly 850,000 residents in Snohomish County, Washington, is one of the first agencies in the nation to deploy Cora. Cora works side-by-side with 911 call-takers during live emergency calls to provide real-time guidance on every call. Its on-screen, heads-up display offers real-time transcription, automatically detects the incident type, and guides call-takers through agency-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Acting like an "over-the-shoulder trainer," the Copilot provides timely, context-aware reminders to ensure consistency while the human call-taker remains 100% in control. Cora is purpose-built to reduce the 911 call-taker's cognitive load by surfacing the exact questions and actions required for each scenario, eliminating the need to reference binders or manuals during critical moments. "911 telecommunicators are expected to be perfect on every single call," said Max Keenan, CEO and founder of Aurelian. "With Cora, we're giving them the tools they need to drive the best outcomes. This launch represents the future of emergency communications - AI augmentation to help telecommunicators do what they do best: save lives." Together, Ava and Cora help telecommunicators drive the best outcomes for their community on every call. Ava, Aurelian's virtual assistant, automates non-emergency calls with zero-second hold times and supports over 35 languages. When Ava detects an emergency, all information (caller details, location, incident type, and key statements) automatically carries over into Cora's live checklist and transcript, allowing call-takers to continue where Ava left off and save critical time. Cora's customizable interface fits around existing CAD systems and matches each agency's exact SOPs. Aurelian currently serves 35% of agencies in Washington State and automates 70% of non-emergency calls to save dispatchers an average of three hours per day. During its pilot with SNO911 in Snohomish County, call-takers have used Cora's compact on-screen design directly within their existing 911 workflow. Early results validate that Cora streamlines call intake, reduces screen switching, and helps call-takers maintain consistency and confidence under pressure. "Our experience with Ava on non-emergency calls was outstanding, so we were eager to extend that success by deploying Cora to support our call takers," said Kurt Mills, Director of SNO911. "Cora functions like a personal assistant for every call taker. It reduces cognitive load in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment and helps our team stay focused, accurate, and consistent while serving the community." About Aurelian Aurelian is an AI platform built exclusively for public safety agencies. Its virtual assistant Ava automates non-emergency calls so dispatchers can stay focused on true emergencies and improve service for their communities. Headquartered in Seattle, Aurelian supports emergency communications centers across the U.S. and integrates with all major CAD and phone systems. For more information, visit aurelian.com.

Aurelian Raises $14M for AI Assistant

Aurelian raised $14 million to develop an AI voice assistant for non-emergency 911 calls, addressing inefficiencies in municipal call centers. The AI triages non-urgent issues, allowing dispatchers to focus on emergencies. Launched in May 2024, it's operational in several U.S. locations. The technology helps alleviate dispatcher workload, amid industry understaffing. Aurelian claims a competitive edge by managing live calls, unlike other startups entering the AI emergency response space.
