Requirements
  • Master level theological degree is required, with a Master of Divinity being the preferred degree. Master level equivalent theological degrees may be considered.
  • Four (4) units of Clinical Pastoral Education for full time, two (2) units of Clinical Pastoral Education for part-time, one (1) unit of Clinical Pastoral Education for pool. All units must be recognized by ACPE, APC, NACC, NAJC, CPSP, CPE-I, or ICPT.
  • Ordination, licensure, or commissioning and endorsement as a chaplain by a religious body listed in the US Defense Department list of Recognized Religions.
  • Active spiritual faith demonstrated.
Responsibilities
  • Requires direct access to Protected Health Information (PHI). The PHI accessed is used for patient treatment, and healthcare-operations purposes through direct contact with patients, family members, patients’ medical records/charts, computer applications, and verbal reports from healthcare providers, and interaction with various hospital interdisciplinary team members.
  • Documents interventions on the patient chart, including, but not limited to such information as referral source, spiritual assessments, interventions, and follow-up/referral plan.
  • Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary clinical team, participating in patient rounds, case reviews, ethics consultations, and advanced directive consults.
  • Provides crisis intervention and bereavement support for persons experiencing suffering, tragedy, or loss.
  • Performs requested sacramental services, applicable chapel services, and/or arranges for the provision of these services by community clergy.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

  • Accreditation by the Association of Theological Schools preferred or a listing in The Database of Postsecondary Institutions and Programs (ope.ed.gov/dapip/)
  • Master level equivalent theological degrees may be considered.

Florida cancer centre opens 31,000 sq ft St Petersburg facility with on-site imaging

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has opened a new 31,000-square-foot facility at Orlando Health Institute Square in St. Petersburg, expanding cancer care access in Pinellas County. The location at 725 6th Ave South features 18 private exam rooms, 47 infusion chairs and on-site PET/CT imaging.
