As a Data Model Architect in Credera’s Data Engineering capability group, you will create data models optimized for analysis in modern data architecture and advanced analytical solutions. This includes designing how data is organized, stored, and retrieved to best support business objectives, as well as visually representing data objects and their associations with different data objects and rules. Our projects range from designing and implementing the latest data platform approaches (i.e. Lakehouse, DataOps, Data Mesh) using best practices and cloud solutions, building scalable data and ML pipelines, democratizing data through modern governance approaches, and delivering data products using advanced machine learning, visualization, and integration approaches.
WHO YOU ARE:
- You have a minimum 3 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and data lake/warehouse architecture (5 years is a plus)
- You have 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, data analysis, ETL or similar role delivering data pipelines
- You have experience in a business-facing role, demonstrating strong communication and presentation skills
- You have the ability to work in a fast-paced, consulting-style, entrepreneurial environment
- You have experience with Cloud SQL Warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse) and / or Lakehouse (Databricks, AWS Lakeformation, etc). Nice to have (Graph, Vector, Document database architectures)
- You have an excellent understanding of data modeling concepts, including Entity-Relationship diagrams, Domain/Subject/Object modeling, and SQL/DDL scripting
- You have proficiency in data integration and transformation techniques and experience with ELT tools like Fivetran and dbt
- You have proven ability to mentor and train others in a complex technical environment
- You have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
- You have a proven track record in driving decision-making process with influence and leadership
- You have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
- Certifications in relevant technologies and platforms would be a plus, such as AWS Certified Big Data or Google Cloud Certified Data Engineer

Hybrid Work Model:
Our employees have the flexibility to work remotely two days per week. We expect our Crederians to average 3 days (full or partial) per week in person with the flexibility to choose the days and times that work best for both them and their project or internal teams. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with management consultants and business analysts to define and translate complex strategic, functional, and technical requirements into detailed architecture and data model designs
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to define / design data models for analytical use and the tech stack to prepare data, as part of a broader data strategy or individual project and assessing client readiness to execute
- Translate business priorities into clearly defined key performance indicators
- Decide between and designing data models for various technology architectures, including MPP / Cloud SQL Warehouses, Lakehouse, Graph, and Vector/Document databases, streaming data
- Decide between and define various data modeling patterns (Star/Snowflake Schema, Data Vault 2.0, Wide Flat Table, Lakehouse, Nested documents, etc)
- Lead data transformation efforts to convert raw data into meaningful information for analytics that drive actionable insights
- Design and implement analytical data models optimized for performance, scalability, and data analysis and aligned to business goals
- Lead Data Democratization efforts for organizations to drive usage of data models and platforms, including data reliability, protection, discovery, and self service tooling
- Teach and mentor junior and senior data engineers on data modeling techniques and data transformation strategies
- Cross-train application data architects and other team members on modern data platforms, data modeling techniques, and tools

For individuals hired to work in Colorado, Credera is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and includes the range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; etc. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would be near the top end of the compensation range, but that decision will be dependent on the facts associated with each specific individual’s relevant experience for the role.
