Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple-frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently and with a team.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.
  • Ability to access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.

  • Ability to accurately handle cash register operations and cash transactions and oversee cash office processes as needed.
  • Ability to scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders as needed.
  • Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays, and reliable and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work in and be exposed to varying temperatures, humidity and other elements while performing certain job duties.
  • Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
Responsibilities
  • Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience.
  • Ensure every team member understands, is trained, and consistently delivers Target’s guest experience commitments and consistent operations.
  • Actively observe and provide feedback, hold team members accountable, and recognize great guest experience moments.
  • Review area guest, financial and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve, align the team on execution, celebrate wins, drive results and elevate the guest experience.
  • Lead Guest Advocates, Service Advocates and Front of Store Attendants in exceeding guest service expectations.
  • Lead and demonstrate best-practice execution for team onboarding and learning and help close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions.
  • Understand sales goals, business reporting and guest insights to plan and execute daily and weekly workload and deliver store sales and guest engagement goals.
  • Support Target Loyalty Programs by ensuring the team can educate guests about benefits, features and offerings.
  • Support the direct leader by following up on training completion, checking for understanding and supporting continuous education opportunities.
  • Engage in consistent, meaningful development conversations throughout critical touch points in the team’s career path.
  • Personalize recognition and appreciation of the team to reinforce critical guest service behaviors and promote a positive team- and guest-centric culture.
  • Help lead a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management on critical Service and Engagement behaviors.
  • Respond to concerns with guests’ shopping experience by de-escalating situations and ensuring the team understands and feels supported to resolve guest concerns and issues.
  • Ensure team members stay up to date on upcoming major promotions, brand launches and events.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team as directed by the direct leader.
  • Support team members in efficiently and accurately delivering pickup and drive-up orders, including drive-up returns and Starbucks, while following applicable adult beverage laws.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct and compliance and hold the team accountable to this commitment.
  • Lead a safety culture by modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, holding the team accountable to safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting and investigating injuries.
  • Model physical security processes and support the in-store security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage and application, as directed by best practices.
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes as a key carrier, if applicable.
  • Occasionally assume store-level Leader on Duty responsibilities during assigned shifts based on store needs.
  • Address all store emergency and compliance needs.
  • Perform other duties based on business needs.
