Requirements
  • Six (6) years of experience working with large secondary datasets (e.g. administrative claims data (Medicare, Medicaid), national survey data); education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
  • Experience and proficiency with one or more statistical software packages (SAS, R, Python, STATA), including data visualization.
Responsibilities
  • Perform descriptive and model-based analyses to support health service utilization and outcomes assessment(s).
  • Generate clear, publication-quality visualizations and tables to communicate analytic findings to a wide audience, including policy audiences and community stakeholders.
  • Identify analytic needs of research questions; design and execute analyses that provide meaningful and actionable answers.
  • Clean, organize, and link multiple large datasets and ensure reproducibility and data integrity.
  • Assist with interpretation of results and dissemination of findings through preparation of reports, journal articles, presentations, and other scholarly outputs. Specifically, contributions towards analytic design and support.
  • Assist with IRB and other regulatory requirements (e.g., data use agreements)
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in biostatistics or statistics, data science, epidemiology, sociology, economics, health services research, public or population health, or a related field.
  • Applied experience with or substantive knowledge of the U.S. health care system and U.S. health policy landscape, including baseline understanding of state and federal health insurance programs inclusive of Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
  • Evidence of scholarship in rural health service delivery, rural health, health services research, health policy.
