Requirements
  • BA/BS, MS in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 5 years working in product development, ideally with multiple delivered products in a medium to high volume industry
  • Have a firm understanding of how complex production lines operate including key items such as industrial workings between facilities/departments, line balance, OEE, error proofing
  • Have a good understanding of production line layout, flow and modeling. Should understand the following: Job shops, batch and flow production; takt, touch and cycle time; bottleneck identification and methods for resolving; workstation organization and setup / lean manufacturing principles; statistical process control; designing single flow lines to build multiple products
  • You are a skilled builder with the expertise to understand and teach the team safe tool practices
  • You can communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to write, speak, and present effectively and persuasively at all levels
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; ability to achieve success in situations with high degrees of uncertainty and complexity

Responsibilities
  • Hire, train, and onboard new team members
  • Mentor your team, give them guidance, and ensure a safety focused culture is top priority
  • Plan, schedule and lead aircraft and ground system prototyping, engineering validation, and design validation campaigns
  • Ensure Design for Assembly and Manufacture (DFAM), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and manufacturing documentation is completed for all subassemblies and assemblies for Platform 1 aircraft and ground systems
  • Work with the Design Engineering teams to ensure builds are coordinated with design iterations and that DFAM and PFMEA feedback is provided throughout product development
  • Work with the Supplier Quality team to ensure vendor selection incorporates lessons learned from prototype and validation builds
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to ensure PFMEAs, time studies, and DFAM are provided
  • Lead weekly meetings with your team to ensure all members are aligned on team goals
