Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • NICET III or IV certifications in specific field of engineering technology
  • Five years of experience in supervising technicians
  • Five (5) years experience as Fire System Technician with NICET III or IV certification
  • Valid State Drivers License
  • Maintain all other required ID as needed
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • Understanding of NFPA codes/standards and control systems associated with Fire Protection Systems
  • Experience and certification on Monaco, Motorola, Dectronix and other Fire Control systems
  • Ability to use technical manuals, technical bulletins, or manufacturer's specification while performing maintenance, troubleshooting, or corrective repairs to Fire Protection Systems and controls.
  • Familiarity with the interrelationships of various Fire Protection System components and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting appropriate tools and testing instruments
  • Good communication skills and customer service oriented
  • Ability to manage projects on site in timely manner
Responsibilities
  • Appling advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems with Fire Life Safety & Health systems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturer's manuals or similar documents.
  • Conducting detailed visual inspections and functional tests of various fire suppression and fire alarm systems and prepares comprehensive reports of all deficiencies and recommends corrective actions to customer.
  • Exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making fire protection system analyses/troubleshooting for the repair of non-functioning systems and developing repair service orders to include labor calculations and identifying component material takeoffs with estimated costs for labor and materials.
  • Replaces fire protection system components and performs testing to ensure proper operations in accordance with applicable NFPA codes and standards.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
  • Provide Preventive Maintenance and Corrective Maintenance services for various fire protection systems.
  • Conducts inspection and testing of fire protection systems to include varying control systems.
  • Troubleshoots and provides estimates for repairs.
  • Oversees Fire System Technicians in daily operations, assigns work priorities, and orders materials needed for repairs.
  • Interacts with customer on a regular basis and communicates all fire protection deficiencies/impairments with recommended remedies, schedule, and cost.
