- At least 10 years of experience in database-oriented development in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with Oracle Database Administration, including Oracle 10g, 11g, and Exadata.
- Experience managing databases larger than 10 terabytes.
- Knowledge of database appliances, Exadata Data Guard, compression, and backup tools.
- Ability to perform Oracle and operating system performance monitoring.
- Required experience with dimensional data marts.
- Strong skills in data structure analysis and development of stored procedures, SQL, and scripting for data transformation and delivery.
- Strong skills in developing and optimizing SQL queries for performance.
- Strong skills in designing and developing relational data structures.
- Knowledge of operating systems and proven scripting skills in Windows and Unix environments.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL*Loader, Microsoft DTS, Transact-SQL, VBScript, Perl, DOS or Unix shell scripting, flat-file manipulation, EBCDIC-to-ASCII conversion, and non-relational data.
- Support Oracle 10g, 11g, and 12c databases on Exadata, Linux, and Client-UX platforms.
- Provide database support, performance tuning, and technology upgrades for Oracle databases in online transaction processing and online analytical processing environments.
- Troubleshoot and research database performance, query performance, space management, and other technical issues.
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, reusable, and extensible integration components.
- Monitor database space and capacity and estimate sizing and growth requirements.
- Perform ongoing database performance tuning, including reviewing and tuning complex SQL statements.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to solve database-level issues involving availability and stability.
- Design and support complex extract, transform, and load processes and Oracle databases that meet enterprise standards for availability and fault tolerance in a secure environment.
- Assist team members with performance tuning and troubleshooting extract, transform, and load processes and queries in development and production.
- Package Oracle database scripts and deployment instructions for the DBA Engineering group to deploy to upper environments.
- Participate in designing and developing large-scale data marts and changes to enterprise data warehouses.
- Develop interfaces to enterprise metadata environments and ensure extract, transform, and load metadata flows accurately into the metadata environment.
- Define and ensure adherence to best practices for extract, transform, and load and database development within standard warehouse models and dimensional data structures.
- Work collaboratively within a solution team to design and implement high-quality database solutions.
- Provide assistance to team members and assume a lead role within projects as needed.
- Communicate with internal teams at various levels about technical and non-technical database infrastructure and performance issues.
