Requirements
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in quality engineering.
  • Experience with high-precision machined parts and assembly operations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 and AS 9100 quality systems.
  • Working knowledge of engineering specifications, mechanical drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of process capability concepts, including Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Supplier Quality Assurance experience.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing practices, problem-solving skills, and enterprise resource planning/materials requirements planning (ERP/MRP) systems.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with familiarity and ability to work in Microsoft Project.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Responsibilities
  • Provide organizational support for customer programs and supplier quality requirements.
  • Perform quality engineering, system and process improvements, and root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities, including non-conformance analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures.
  • Lead quality functions for assigned programs from proposal through shipment to the customer while complying with customer requirements and achieving cost and delivery expectations.
  • Host customer quality audits and participate in internal quality audits.
  • Interface with suppliers and customers concerning program quality requirements.
  • Develop, modify, coordinate, and document the implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of quality assurance programs and systems.
  • Issue formal supplier corrective actions (SCARs) and work with suppliers to resolve problems.
  • Issue internal and supplier Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Provide advice and guidance on interpreting and adapting quality standards and government regulations.
  • Analyze design reliability and quality to recommend process changes and enhancements.
  • Work closely with Engineering to bring quality products to production readiness.
  • Track action plans from supplier audits and assessments and monitor their activity for completion and correctness daily.
  • Lead quality activities in production, including factory materials, processes, assemblies, products, and field failures (RMA).
Desired Qualifications
  • A BS or MS in a science or engineering discipline, preferably with emphasis in electro/mechanical engineering.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt.
  • ASQ CQE or CQM certification.
  • Experience working in military or aerospace quality systems.
  • Significant experience working directly with customers and suppliers.
