The Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine [R0147983].

Role of the Position

The Department of Family and Community Medicine at Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, seeks dedicated and innovative full-time Family and Community Medicine clinical faculty at the Assistant/Associate level. Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate is expected to possess an M.D. or D.O. degree, be certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, or complete certification within two years of completing residency and have completed a Family Medicine Residency Program from an ACGME accredited institution. Must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical, Nevada pharmacy and DEA license, malpractice coverage. Must meet credentialing requirements and must be able to obtain privileges at University Medical Center (UMC) and other site locations as needed. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

The candidate’s educational credentials, terminal degree, experience in an academic medical institution or equivalency, research and scholarly activity will be considered in determining the candidate’s recommended rank. The SOM Faculty Appointment, Promotion and Tenure (FAPT) Committee will use the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV (SOM) promotion criteria to recommend the rank to the Dean of the SOM. Tenure considerations may be given upon hire on a case-by-case basis depending on verified previous credentials, the FAPT recommendation, and the SOM Dean’s recommendation.
