Requirements
  • Possess an Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
  • Be certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, or complete certification within two years of completing residency.
  • Have completed a Family Medicine Residency Program from an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education accredited institution.
  • Must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, Nevada pharmacy license, and Drug Enforcement Administration license, and have malpractice coverage.
  • Must meet credentialing requirements and must be able to obtain privileges at University Medical Center and other site locations as needed.
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
  • The candidate’s educational credentials, terminal degree, experience in an academic medical institution or equivalency, research and scholarly activity will be considered in determining the candidate’s recommended rank.
  • The School of Medicine Faculty Appointment, Promotion and Tenure Committee will use Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV promotion criteria to recommend the rank to the Dean of the School of Medicine.
  • Tenure considerations may be given upon hire on a case-by-case basis depending on verified previous credentials, the Faculty Appointment, Promotion and Tenure recommendation, and the SOM Dean’s recommendation.
