Requirements
  • Proficiency requirements for English language comprehension and general language testing: At least ILR level 2 as measured by a Department of Defense test; A score of 553 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Paper-Based Test, or TOEFL iBT score as follows: 83 minimum overall and at least 20 each in Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing; A score of no less than 82 on the English Comprehension Level (ECL) test; At least a proficiency level 2 or Advanced-Low (ACTFL) on an Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI); Target Language Qualifications with general professional proficiency (language rating ILR level 2+ or ACTFL Advanced-High) in the specified foreign language demonstrated by one of: Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI/2-skill OPI) from DLIFLC; an interview certified by ACTFL; Defense Language Proficiency Test; Minimum of 80 hours documented training in online language teaching; All candidates will be required to take and pass the foreign language test; May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance; English language and comprehension scores qualifications including TOEFL, ECL, ILR/ACTFL requirements.

  • minimally 1 day advance lesson planning; attendance taking; daily annotations; weekly progress reports; develop, review, correct, and grade daily homework; review and grade weekly assessments; maintain positive learning environment; address behavior/attendance concerns; collaborate with Site Lead, POI analyst, or Language Instructional Developer; provide instruction in listening, reading, writing, speaking, regional and culture topics; integrate technology; develop learning materials; use state-of-the-art devices; organize data and teaching materials; travel may be required; assist GOVT in management of unit foreign LREC training; execute planned POI and ad hoc tutoring sessions; teach language curriculum based on POI; address curriculum gaps; provide instruction in language skills, regional and culture subjects; develop learning materials; use technology in classroom and homework; develop daily lesson plans; correspond with Site Lead and POI analyst; monitor student learning progress; attendance; etc.
