- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Systems Engineering, or a related degree, is required; alternatively, a high-school diploma with 7+ years of network administration, network engineering, or systems administration experience is accepted.
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix and macOS operating systems is required.
- Strong knowledge and experience with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, networking, and network administration are required.
- Experience with virtual desktop environments, including Citrix and VMware, is required.
- The ability to collaborate across physical locations is required.
- Design and implement infrastructure solutions that support mission execution and command decision-making.
- Integrate new technologies and equipment within lab environments and develop and refine standard operating procedures and policies.
- Assess network topology and device configurations, identify critical security vulnerabilities, and recommend security best practices.
- Provide user support for VPNs, virtual desktop infrastructure such as Citrix, macOS, and iOS platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues ranging from basic to complex network problems.
- Implement granular access controls, monitor system performance and accessibility, maintain backup protocols, and ensure system security.
- Diagnose and resolve complex enterprise storage issues across local and wide area networks, including replication strategy support and remediation of storage-related incidents.
- Design, build, and maintain network environments by configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, updating network devices, and performing IP address audits.
- Troubleshoot network issues, enforce system standards, and collaborate with stakeholders to optimize infrastructure performance.
- Secure network systems through policy enforcement, access controls, and continuous monitoring.
- Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco switches.
- Experience with converged infrastructure solutions such as FlexPod and NetApp storage systems.
- Proficiency with Cisco Intersight, vCenter, and virtualization automation or optimization.
- Strong documentation skills for technical procedures and standard operating procedures.
- Ability to create and maintain network diagrams.
- Experience in network design, implementation, and performance tuning.
- Project management and time-management capabilities.
- Expertise in hardening network devices and infrastructure for enhanced security.
- DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II, Network+, or CCNA certification.
