  • Current licensure - LMSW or LMHC ( LIMITED PERMIT may be considered)
  • Master’s in social work or equivalent
  • Knowledge of emotional/behavioral health; mental health and diagnostic classification
  • Strong expertise in strengths-based, solution-focused, and family-centered practice.
  • Knowledge of guidelines, policies and regulations relating to child welfare, safety, permanency and well-being.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to assist individuals of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences.
Responsibilities
  • The Social Worker will be responsible for the overall delivery and coordination of services for homeless clients.
  • The Social Worker is responsible for interfacing with the New York City Department of Homeless Services Staff, Shelter providers and relevant community-based organizations to enhance and ensure clients are in receipt of optimal care and service coordination.
  • Be responsible for the completion of psychosocial assessments impacted by multiple systems.
  • Assess clients’ needs and facilitate appropriate linkages to community-based services.
  • Work within a crisis driven environment with a knowledge base of substance abuse and addiction, domestic violence, trauma, and mental health conditions.
