Requirements
  • 3+ years business experience in Analytics
  • Familiarity, but not mastery, of accounting principles (revenue principles, debits/credits on balance sheets, tax principles, etc.)
  • Experience working with accounting / analytics teams to assist with data queries, metrics reporting, and surfacing narratives to share with broader audiences
  • Intermediate SQL and data visualization tool experience (e.g. Periscope, Mode, Looker, Tableau, etc.)
  • Experience working with data infrastructure / engineering teams to assist with recommendations for organizing data into performant tables
Responsibilities
  • Become a subject matter expert on database queries related to all payments and finance tables, tax database, and integrated third-party vendor data
  • Partner with engineering to maintain our internal revenue recognition engine by building and refining automated queries generated from our payments solution, and lead data investigations to reconcile accounting variances
  • Provide leverage for the accounting and tax teams through insights, narratives and increased automation/simplification. Be a thought partner for business owners, getting to the question behind the questions and distilling the underlying need to analyze data
