  • BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant field
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role
  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles
  • Experience with Azure data technologies such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Cosmos DB, Power BI and SQL
  • The successful candidate will be subject to a mandatory DBS check as part of the onboarding process
Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data solutions on Azure, using services such as Azure SQL Database, Data Factory, Data Lake Store, Data Lake Analytics, Stream Analytics, Azure Storage, Cosmos DB and more
  • Make informed decisions on the strategic direction and roadmap for the use and implementation of cloud platforms and DevOps methodologies
  • Design scalable and efficient data models, metadata systems, and data catalogues aligned with business objectives
  • Optimise performance and resolve issues to ensure data accessibility and responsiveness
  • Provide guidance and oversight to project teams on data architecture and management of the full data product lifecycle
  • Collaborate with solution architects, enterprise architects, and business teams to align technical solutions with organisational goals
  • Defining and driving the Pennon Group's architecture for data utilisation across the group, including Pennon, South West Water, Bournemouth Water, Bristol Water, SES Water, Pennon Power and Pennon Water Services
