  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a science related field is required, preferably Chemistry.
  • Five years Quality Control and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must possess thorough understanding of laboratory safety requirements.
  • Understanding of cGMP, SQF, and/or AIB is preferred.
  • Must have good presentation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate in English.
  • Strong computer skills and good working knowledge with all MS Office applications.
  • Must have good computer skills and be able to apply advanced math skills and use involved problem solving skills like SPC, Six Sigma and Gauge R&R.
  • Must possess strong people, organizational skills, be self-motivated and initiate continuous improvement.
  • Strong laboratory analytical practices and instrument/method trouble shooting skills.
  • Ability to accurately transfer written and verbal information and documentation and enter data into existing computer system.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write and speak English.
Responsibilities
  • Supervisor QC personnel, including but not limited to training, scheduling, coaching, and counseling employees; communicates job expectations; planning monitoring, appraising job contributions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Monitor calibration and PM requirements of all QC Laboratory instruments.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage of laboratory.
  • Provide operations with timely material acceptance/rejection decisions, technical assistance during the manufacture of new products and/or resolution of manufacturing/quality problems.
  • Guides employee performance and development through the use of daily communication and annual performance evaluations.
  • Enforce proper laboratory safety by serving as the Chemical Hygiene Officer.
  • Develop or update and implement Quality Control procedures for continual QC improvement.
  • Completes assignments as directed by the Director of Quality.
  • Direct and/or prepare laboratory monthly reports and metrics to include a minimum of microbial testing, analysis performed, COA’s, and cost savings measurements.
  • Lead customer audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Perform root cause analysis, initiate corrective actions and verification processes for investigations and audit findings.
  • Perform liaison function between quality control and operations on review and implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality practices and in resolving quality issues.
  • Ensure implementation and technology transfer from Technical Center to the site.
  • Promote complete customer satisfaction through quality and service to both external and internal customers.
  • Manage facility GMP and HACCP programs per FDA guidance.
  • Prepare and administer laboratory budget.
  • Justify and request Lab-related Capital Improvement Projects as needed and ensure projects are completed successfully on time within budget.
  • Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.
  • Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties to be assigned.
