Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A diploma from an accredited vocational or technical Licensed Vocational Nurse program is required.
  • A current unrestricted Licensed Vocational Nurse license issued by the State of California is required.
  • A current Basic Life Support Provider certification issued by the American Heart Association is required.
  • Applicants must communicate verbally and in writing with staff, customers, and patients by telephone or in person.
  • Applicants must maintain privacy and confidentiality of patient care and business matters.
  • Applicants must interpret and apply State, Federal, and Agency standards to comply with regulations.
  • Applicants must deliver safe, appropriate, ethical, and evidence-based care in an effective, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Applicants must use software applications and technological devices such as computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Applicants must operate mechanical and medical devices or equipment and use healthcare technology within the specialty area.
  • Applicants must demonstrate time management and priority-setting skills.
  • Applicants must work independently, manage multiple tasks with minimal direction, and handle complex and competing priorities.
Responsibilities
  • Support physicians and nursing staff in delivering healthcare.
  • Perform patient-care assessments and a variety of medically related tasks.
  • Provide nursing services in an ambulatory care setting within the scope of practice.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient-care and business matters.
  • Incorporate feedback, self-reflection, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving to improve quality of care and operational processes.
  • Manage competing priorities while maintaining an adaptable and flexible work environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of Licensed Vocational Nurse experience is preferred.
  • A current Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certificate issued by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians is preferred.
