Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of operations experience, including a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong organizational skills and oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with warehouse management system, transportation management system, and enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Meet the requirements of Dealer Tire's Motor Vehicle Record Policy and Company Vehicle Fleet Policy.
  • Operate the company vehicle safely and professionally and wear the vehicle safety belt.
  • Wear safety equipment when required.
  • For those with a Missouri driver's license, hold a valid Class E license.
  • For those working in a Michigan distribution center, hold a valid Chauffeur's License.
  • Speak and read English well enough to converse with the public, understand road signs, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on records and reports.
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • After hire, pass a driver's road skills test and Department of Transportation physical.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Lift at least 70 pounds.
  • Perform continuous lifting, bending, twisting, and crouching.
  • Be open to travel as needed for training and project work, estimated at 30%.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise warehouse teams to ensure safety, productivity, and engagement.
  • Support operational planning, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  • Collaborate on staffing strategies, performance evaluations, and employee development.
  • Participate in structured training, mentoring, and leadership projects.
  • Prepare for future relocation and promotion into a Distribution Center Manager role.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by leading safety programs, ensuring associates receive safety training and certifications, enforcing safety procedures, and addressing safety issues.
  • Use coaching, teaching, and training to develop team members.
  • Collaborate with leadership on employee initiatives that promote team involvement, empowerment, and commitment to company success.
  • Assist in developing and executing recognition, engagement, and team-building strategies.
  • Collaborate with the manager on staffing strategies, monitor labor hours, and consult on budgetary and operational impact.
  • Provide input into team-member performance assessments and recommend promotions, counseling, and termination; assist with performance conversations.
  • Assist with coaching, counseling, and discipline to hold associates accountable for performance.
  • Assist with scheduling staff to meet changing daily business needs.
  • Supervise and direct associates.
  • Assist with interviewing and making hiring recommendations.
  • Ensure records and reports are prepared on time and maintained effectively.
  • Execute daily operations, including monitoring productivity and quality, troubleshooting processes, and ensuring safety, inventory accuracy, on-time deliveries, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and monitoring receiving, storage, assembly when applicable, and distribution of vendor-supplied items.
  • Aid inventory-control training and execute cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve inventory-control discrepancies.
  • Perform product relocation, replenishment, and consolidation as required.
  • Monitor daily distribution-center production and performance and reallocate staffing and equipment as needed.
  • Assist with equipment allocation and maintenance.
  • Work with Distribution Center Managers and perform delegated responsibilities with the goal of becoming a Distribution Center Manager.
  • Complete program experiences and training according to Distribution Center Manager-in-Training guidelines.
  • Observe experienced associates and leaders to learn required methods, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Learn techniques for directing daily operations, including workflow scheduling, productivity and quality monitoring, process troubleshooting, safety, inventory accuracy, on-time deliveries, and customer satisfaction.
  • Tour the warehouse regularly to evaluate operations and help solve problems.
  • Assist in maintaining location cleanliness and supply levels.
  • Follow company operations policies.
  • Complete the Distribution Center Trainer certification and deliver safety and operational training programs.
  • Make recommendations to improve distribution-center operations.
  • Participate in a learning project assignment and deliver results aligned with project objectives.

  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, although experience can be substituted for the degree requirement.
