Requirements
  • Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Have authorization to work in the United States when the work location is in the United States.
  • Complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification security.
  • Be able to secure a Customs Seal through the respective governing agency if required by the customer or role access.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and move items weighing up to 70 pounds or more regularly, including repetitive lifting of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces.
  • Be alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment to communicate with crew and airport authorities.
  • Work around jet and machinery noise in a warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrate leadership, conflict-resolution, constructive-feedback, decision-making, communication, intermediate computer, Microsoft Office, basic math, problem-solving, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Have excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and schedule changes caused by operational demands.
Responsibilities
  • Develop work assignments for office agents and leads.
  • Make recommendations to management on hiring, promotion, and disciplinary decisions.
  • Provide training and oversight to new employees.
  • Convey shipping instructions to the customer services counter.
  • Retrieve import documents and deliver export documents to and from aircraft.
  • Accept cargo in accordance with applicable Transportation Security Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, government, and air carrier rules and regulations.
  • Accept dangerous goods in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Administration regulations and International Air Transport Association Dangerous Goods Regulations.
  • Release imported international freight after reviewing Customs and Border Protection clearances and authorizations.
  • Collect air freight charges.
  • Handle customer phone calls professionally and courteously.
  • Complete paperwork and forms for work assignments and enter required data into the company information system, including international cargo documents and freight transfer manifests.
  • Follow company procedures and protocols to maintain safe and responsible operations.
  • Complete required training provided by the company, airport governing authority, or customer.
  • Report hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, and dangerous occurrences according to company and carrier safety and security procedures.
  • Follow provided training and applicable health, safety, security, and welfare procedures.
  • Attend required Alliance Ground International training courses.
