Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree in student affairs, or a related field (e.g., counseling, criminology, social work, sociology, psychology) is preferred.
  • At least three years of professional experience in Title IX, student affairs, student conduct, human relations, personnel administration, investigations, dating/domestic and/or sexual violence, trauma-informed counseling, handling allegations of sexual misconduct and/or domestic violence, and/or diversity education.
  • At least three years working in a post-secondary institution is preferred.
  • Strong initiative, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to resolve conflict.
  • In-depth knowledge of Title IX, VAWA, CLERY, and/or related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under stress, and meet deadlines.
  • Skilled in presentations, facilitation, and active listening, with a positive and patient approach.
  • Proven ability to handle complex, confidential matters with sensitivity, neutrality, and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and objective judgment skills.
  • Experience in conducting investigations of alleged sex/pregnancy-based discrimination and/or harassment complaints.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and non-judgmental environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to learn other software (e.g., Maxient, WorkDay).
  • This is not an advocacy position and requires the ability to assess complex situations with a high level of impartiality, neutrality, and objectivity.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and respond to incident reports received through various channels (electronic system, in-person, email, etc.).
  • Conduct initial case intakes with involved parties, offering guidance on policies, processes, and supportive measures, such as mutual No Contact Orders and referrals.
  • Track and document all case details, collaborating with the Executive Director on time-sensitive issues and providing regular updates.
  • Coordinate campus intake efforts, effectively communicating with involved parties and other departments while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Conduct thorough, unbiased investigations into Title IX-related policy violations, interviewing parties and witnesses to build a clear, impartial investigative report.
  • Inform parties of their rights, provide supportive measures as necessary, and ensure all case files and records adhere to federal compliance standards.
  • Maintain high confidentiality throughout the investigation process and communicate updates to the Executive Director.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Title IX-related training for students, faculty, and staff, including handouts and presentations.
  • Collaborate with various university departments, including Housing, Athletics, ROTC, and others, to establish ongoing training opportunities.
  • Stay informed on federal and state laws related to Title IX, ensuring that educational content reflects current regulations and trends.
  • Assist in policy development, climate surveys, Clery reporting, and educational programs.
  • Attend departmental and committee meetings, participate in professional trainings, and assist with other duties as needed.
  • This role occasionally requires night and weekend work.
