Requirements
  • 40 hours per week; 8am-4:30pm; Schedule may change based on events and activities occurring.
  • Two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a healthcare setting.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy, Recreational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • At least 36 hours of training in a course designed specifically for the position.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and carry out the Activity function at the Hospice House.
  • Perform timely assessments and documentation of socialization and activity needs of patients.
  • Maintain and upgrade inventory and supplies needed to carry out the activity function.
  • Educate and train Hospice House staff on the role and function of the Activities Department.
  • Develop and provide activities for a Short Stay Activity Program.
  • Organize activities including social activities, indoor and outdoor activities, religious visits, residential council, creative activities, educational activities, and exercise activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Title 22 Regulations.
