The Role

The Legal Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting the Legal Department with litigation intake and management, drafting legal documents, investigations support, records maintenance and organization, e-filing, docketing, carefully tracking deadlines, and general administrative support for a small legal team. The role is primarily a litigation assistance role supporting in-house counsel.

This role will report directly to the Deputy General Counsel.

Responsibilities

Draft and revise legal forms, correspondence, pleadings, and discovery under the supervision of counsel.
Open, organize and maintain litigation files. Develop a working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations related to the consumer finance industry.
Coordinate all e-filing and a robust docket of litigation matters ensuring no deadlines are missed.
General office support.

Requirements

Minimum 7-10 years’ of litigation paralegal or legal assistant experience.
Proficiency in G-suite.
Proficiency in Logikcull.
Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Financial services experience a plus.
Ablity to think critically, solve problems, multi-task, and prioritize.
