  • 5+ Years of progressive, hands-on experience in a multi-state payroll and benefits environment, preferably in a rapidly growing company
  • HR/Payroll system experience with a major vendor (ADP, Paylocity, etc.)
  • Knowledge of payroll/benefit regulations including Federal and State HR/Payroll Laws (FMLA, FLSA, e.g.) and IRS regulations that impact payroll and benefits
  • Demonstrated familiarity with employee benefit programs and relevant laws that govern them including Medical/Dental/Vision, Life, Disability,401(k) (COBRA, ERISA, HIPPA, etc.)
  • Must have experience with all aspects of 401(k): filing, audits, 5500s, non-discrimination testing, etc
  • Proven knowledge of wage attachments such as garnishments, child supports, liens, etc
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and delicate information related to employees
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to be timely and responsive to the needs of the department and organization
  • Self-directed and self-motivated, able to independently plan and execute on a daily basis
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mindset with project management experience
  • Experience with Excel and Google Sheets
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with internal/external partners
  • Strong understanding of payroll and benefit processes and procedures, including eligibility and enrollment rules and benefit procedures
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field with an emphasis in business or finance, or equivalent year's professional/analytical experience related to the above-described duties
  • Experience with Total Rewards (including pre-IPO equity) highly relevant and beneficial
  • Experience developing US benefits strategy, design, and implementation
  • Experience with bringing Payroll and Benefits administration in house, and/or transitioning off a PEO
  • Current payroll certification
