Your Role:

In the role of materials chemist, you will work with the materials and process development teams to develop and produce 3D printing materials for testing, and you will aid in the development of procedures necessary to print high-precision metal parts for a variety of industries.

• Formulate materials for Mantle’s 3D printing technology.
• Implement characterization routines and quality control processes for Mantle’s 3D printing materials.
• Routine laboratory work such as precision measurement and transfer of liquid and solid materials.
• Setup and operation of materials processing equipment, including mixers, grinders, and other laboratory and industrial tools.
• Data collection and processing using a variety of analytical tools, including rheometers, optical measurement and 3D scanning systems.
• Execute and manage regular prep work through checklists and SOPs.
• General lab organization and upkeep, including inventory, maintenance, and repair.

Your Qualifications:

• BS degree, in chemistry, materials science, or a related engineering field with equivalent laboratory experience.
• Minimum of two years working with materials and machines in the laboratory and/or industrial environments.
• Ability to safely handle large quantities of hazardous chemicals in an industrial setting, adhere to strict safety protocols, and usage of protective equipment.
• Working knowledge of standard laboratory equipment including analytical balances, mixers, and fume hoods.
• Strong laboratory hygiene and materials handling skills - high attention to detail in multi-step processes following SOPs.
• Understanding of basic and advanced personal protective equipment in a laboratory environment; some exposure to emergency response procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
