A Day in the Life
In this exciting role as a Clinical Research Manager for the Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health Field Clinical Organization (FCO) team, you will have primary focus responsibility for the overall management and leadership of a field-based based team comprised of Field Clinical Engineers (FCE) across a field-based geography in the United States. This includes the recruiting, hiring, training, developing, coaching, and overall management of Field Clinical Engineers. This position will partner with the Department Director and other Department Managers to provide overall leadership of the Global Field Clinical Organization by collaborating on the strategic direction, establishing metrics to measure progress, conducting field visits with employees and customers, and overseeing the overall study management process. This position may involve direct support of FCE team work tasks as necessary to meet clinical trial project objectives.
In addition, this position will work closely with other stakeholders such as sales, marketing, research, and clinical to ensure sound portfolio management and stellar contributions of the Field Clinical team at clinical sites. This position collaborates with the field management team on organizational structure, project implementation, and strategic alignment with Medtronic partners.

Location: Remote within the U.S.
Ability to travel 50% of the time including frequent travel to and from US/Canada and occasional international trips.
• Provides leadership for the conduct of clinical studies and for the regulatory affairs function as it applies to product approval.
• Studies must be scientifically valid, meet all relevant regulatory requirements and be conducted within ethical guidelines.
• The result of the clinical studies must be a fair assessment of the safety and efficacy of the tested product (s) and attainment of product approvals in a timely matter.
• Develops and implements regulatory strategies to obtain timely product approvals form worldwide regulatory bodies.
• Ensures regulatory submissions are accurately prepared and comply with regulatory approvals.
• People working within region/country may also have the responsibilities that include:
• Represents Medtronic from clinical research respective within the country / region and also collects feedback from local customers and authorities.
• Builds and maintains a strong network and close relationship with the various internal and external parties.
• Leads execution for both local and global studies, manages clinical research projects over all the Medtronic therapies across multiple businesses.
• This position may involve direct support of FCE team work tasks as necessary to meet clinical trial project objectives.
Key responsibilities:
• Partner with the Field Clinical team and Department Director in the overall responsibility/conduct of the Field Clinical Organization.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, and provide overall management of field-based Field Clinical Engineers.
• Partner with key stakeholders (Sales, Clinical, Marketing, Product Planning, Customer Education, and Research) on the implementation of clinical research projects. Work closely with Field Management to ensure optimal support (technical and clinical support) of investigational sites.
• Work with direct reports, in-house study management, sales, marketing, and other key stakeholders to understand the interests and capabilities of clinical sites.
• Partner with in-house/field management to develop robust metrics to assess research execution and contribution to the research portfolio.
• Become knowledgeable across all Research Study Protocols.
• Represent the Field Clinical Organization and regional customers to internal peers on key projects and initiatives.
• Drive accountability and execution of research studies with direct reports.
• Model and provide leadership accountability and management of key skills and abilities required for a successful Field Clinical Organization such as highly effective and timely communications, strong relationship building and management skills, and high overall engagement.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree
- 5+ years of clinical experience with 5+ years of managerial experience OR
- Advanced degree with 3+ years of clinical experience with 3+ years of managerial experience
Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications):
Clinical Research experience with managerial/people leadership experience at Medtronic or within a medical device industry
Experience managing Clinical teams
Experience in the management of clinical devices
Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health experience. Thorough knowledge of Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health technology therapies, care pathways, and related disease states.
Thorough understanding of in-house/field study management dynamics/interactions
Expertise with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for clinical trials

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$127,200.00 - $190,800.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
