Hub International names Samuel Garvey as commercial lines analytics practice leader

Hub International has appointed Samuel Garvey as Commercial Lines Analytics Practice Leader to expand its data and analytics capabilities across the US and Canada. Garvey will develop proprietary tools to strengthen risk analysis and advise clients on programme structure, retentions and total cost of risk. A credentialed actuary (FCAS), Garvey previously served as Vice President of Analytics at an independent insurance brokerage, where he oversaw actuarial, captive and catastrophe modelling functions and helped develop a commercial insurtech platform. He also led surplus lines pricing strategies at a global brokerage firm and worked as a catastrophe risk analyst at a reinsurance adviser. The appointment advances Hub's strategy to embed analytics across commercial lines, alternative risk and captives to improve client outcomes.

Paducah Chamber breakfast to feature a 'Salute to the Arts'

Paducah Chamber breakfast to feature a 'Salute to the Arts' * By SUN STAFF | The Sun * 4 hrs ago The Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce announced that its upcoming Power in Partnership Breakfast will feature a "Salute to the Arts," with HUB International as the event's sponsor. In a release, the Chamber said the program is set to feature a panel centered around the arts in Paducah with panelists including Ben Grimes, Market House Theatre; Alyssa Phares, Paducah Convention & Visitors Bureau; Bonnie Schrock, National Quilt Museum; and Brian Wilson, The Carson Center. The release additionally stated that the program will feature the Leadership Paducah Class #39 and its check presentation to Fresh Start Village - a program of Paducah Cooperative Ministry - for its welcome center. The class, the release said, has been raising funds these last few months to benefit the non-profit. "Fresh Start Village was selected following a process by the class to allow all Chamber member non-profits to respond to a request for information. The class then narrowed it to several finalists, and each finalist was given an opportunity to meet with the class and provide more information about their request, funds needed and how it would benefit their organization and the community," said the release. This bi-annual event will allow arts organizations to have displays at the breakfast, and the Chamber added that attendees are encouraged to come early to view the displays and meet with various organization representatives. Breakfast is set to begin at 7:30 a.m. on July 9 at the Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center, a week late due to the July 4 holiday. The Chamber noted that re-registration is required by Monday, July 6, at 2 p.m., and Power Card holders do not have to pre-register. The registration cost is $25.
