About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of Sully.ai’s user-facing interfaces. This role is deeply technical and design-driven: you will architect, build, and optimize our frontend systems to deliver intuitive, high-performance, and delightful user experiences. You’ll collaborate closely with design, product, and backend engineering to ensure our platform is not only functional but a joy to use.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and delivery of Sully.ai’s frontend applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and usability.

• Collaborate with product and design to translate complex workflows into simple, elegant interfaces.

• Mentor junior engineers and establish frontend best practices, testing frameworks, and coding standards.

• Optimize load times and responsiveness across web and mobile platforms.

• Partner with backend teams to ensure seamless API integrations and data handling.

Hard Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in frontend engineering, with mastery of React (or equivalent modern framework).

• Proven track record of building and scaling production-grade applications with high usage.

• Strong expertise in TypeScript, state management, and modern frontend tooling.

• Deep understanding of accessibility, responsive design, and performance optimization.

• Experience collaborating with designers and backend engineers in fast-paced environments.

Nice-to-Have

• Background in healthcare or enterprise SaaS applications.

• Experience with real-time data visualization (charts, dashboards, metrics).

• Contributions to open-source frontend frameworks or libraries.

First-Month Focus

• Audit and document the current frontend codebase and architecture.

• Deliver improvements to performance and UI responsiveness (baseline metrics established).

• Build a shared component library to drive UI consistency across teams.

Success OKRs (90 Days)

• Reduce frontend load times by 30% across key user workflows.

• Deliver at least 2 new major customer-facing UI features with measurable adoption (≥80% usage in pilot accounts).

• Implement automated testing coverage for >70% of frontend code, reducing regression bugs by at least 40%.
