Requirements
  • A high school degree or equivalent is required.
  • Strong communication skills are required to explain parts information to customers and associates.
  • Knowledge of automotive original equipment manufacturer parts is required.
  • The ability to lift 50 to 70 pounds is required.
  • Availability to work on Saturdays is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Applicants must pass the pre-employment screening and background check.
Responsibilities
  • Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that customers are exposed to the full product line.
  • Pull purchased parts from stock.
  • Determine part availability and submit an emergency order when requested by the customer or technician if a part is not in stock.
  • Answer phone calls and provide price quotes and other information.
  • Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pickup.
  • Verify will-call and backorder files weekly and return items to vendors or stock items that are not required.
  • Use various online programs while multitasking and communicating large orders with multiple body shop clients.
  • Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in progress.
  • Notify the service desk and customers when ordered parts have been received.
  • Ensure that technicians present a repair order before parts can be charged out.
  • Display seasonal parts and accessories attractively.
  • Keep bins, aisles, and storage areas clean, near, and clearly labeled.
  • Provide professional and efficient service to customers, coworkers, and other dealership departments.
  • Issue credit slips for returned parts while ensuring the original invoice or invoice number is available for purchase and pricing verification; obtain approval for exceptions from the Parts Manager or Office Manager.
  • Keep front and rear counters clean and uncluttered.
  • Advise the Parts Manager when department areas are not in satisfactory condition.
  • Stay current on new products and product updates.
  • Participate in available training programs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds is preferred.
  • Experience working in a body shop is a plus.
