Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Experience testing equipment and cabling, building out racks and cabinets, and terminating onto patch panels.
  • A basic understanding of RJ45 terminations and punch-downs.
  • Comfort working with color-coded wiring.
  • A strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Willingness and ability to work days, nights, or weekends based on project needs.
  • Ability to work on ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • OSHA 10 certification is required within the first two weeks.
  • Ability to regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet.
  • Ability to operate scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs if required.
Responsibilities
  • Follow safe work practices and company and client worksite safety policies and procedures.
  • Pull, dress, and label Cat5e/Cat6 cabling according to TIA/EIA standards.
  • Begin RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations with guidance.
  • Assist in labeling and cable identification.
  • Learn and perform basic punch-downs for telecom blocks.
  • Support cable testing using Fluke and EXFO tools under supervision.
  • Gain exposure to fiber cable dressing and basic handling.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Take direction from senior technicians and supervisors.
  • Perform work in indoor office and construction environments, including standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and working in tight or confined spaces.
