The School of Nursing at the University of Maine seeks applicants for a non-tenure track, academic-year (9-month) Lecturer of Nursing position anticipated to start on September 1, 2026.
This is a 100% teaching position. Responsibilities will include teaching and student advising. The School of Nursing is looking for a candidate to fulfill a 24-credit load per academic year (Sept – May). Each semester, 12 credits of workload will be divided between teaching and academic advising. The split of duties could include 5 credits for academic advising of students in semesters 4 through 8 and 7 credits for instruction. The candidate would be responsible for undergraduate didactic, clinical or lab courses, as needed.

Qualifications:
Required:
- A Master of Science in Nursing, Current licensure as an RN, or eligibility for Maine licensure by date of hire.
- Commitment to teaching, professional development, and service.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Documented expertise in his or her area(s) of teaching responsibility.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred:
Two years of documented college/university-level teaching experience including didactic, clinical, or laboratory courses in a pre-licensure nursing program. Preference will be given to candidates prepared to teach or contribute to the following courses in a specified area of clinical expertise:
- NUR 200: Care of Adults I
- NUR 303: Pathophysiology
- NUR 316: Pharmacology
- NUR 340 Psych/Mental Health
- NUR 444: Management and Leadership in Health Care System
- NUR 455: Senior Clinical Practicum
