PITT OHIO announced as 2026 CIO 100 Award Winner.

PITT OHIO announced as 2026 CIO 100 Award Winner. Pittsburgh, PA (March 31, 2026) - Foundry's CIO has named PITT OHIO as a 2026 CIO 100 Award Winner. For over 40 years, the CIO 100 Awards have recognized innovative organizations that exemplify the highest level of strategic and operational excellence in IT. "The CIOs we're recognizing this year aren't just keeping the lights on, they're driving the business," said Richard Smith, Head of Event Content, CIO 100 Awards & Conference. "AI, data, security, cloud; it all lands on the same desk now, and the best CIOs have stopped treating them as separate problems. The 2026 class shows what it looks like when you get that right." PITT OHIO was named a 2026 CIO 100 Award recipient for its No Touch Email (N@TE AI) initiative, an enterprise solution designed to eliminate manual processing of email based freight pickup requests. The objective of N@TE was to reduce administrative friction, speed customer response times, and allow customer service teams to focus on higher value work. Integrated directly into PITT OHIO's transportation management system, N@TE uses artificial intelligence to convert unstructured emails into accurate pickup orders in real time, delivering a 30-60x increase in processing speed, over 99% accuracy, and a 70% reduction in handling costs per order. "This project wasn't about experimenting with AI. It was about solving a real operational problem and delivering measurable results," said Scott Sullivan, Chief Information Officer at PITT OHIO. "N@TE demonstrates how thoughtful, production ready innovation can improve service for our customers while empowering our employees." The initiative has also generated new strategic value through a U.S. patent and joint licensing agreement, positioning N@TE as a scalable innovation for the broader transportation industry.
