UI Staff Engineer

WHO YOU ARE:
As a UI Staff Engineer, you will execute on product’s vision for a modern, frictionless, scalable, persona-driven experiences, which collectively result in the best end-to-end Life & Annuities solution in the industry. You will partner with fellow engineers to create a reusable, predictable, and discoverable development framework allowing rapid, consistent, and maintainable frontend UI development. The UI framework will align to Zinnia’s design system and provide a foundation for other projects. We are seeking a team player with leadership experience, exceptional front-end development skills, and a proven track record of successful delivery.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Design, develop, and maintain an architecture strategy that aligns with our organization strategy
• Drive engineering excellence and constant improvement to increase teams’ productivity
• Mentor fellow individual contributors to the highest level of performance
• Maintain code quality through best practices, such as unit, component and integration testing and code quality assurance automation
• Engage in technical discussions and create technical designs

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in enterprise software development
• Deep demonstrated expertise, and competency in the React framework with the ability to speak in-depth about the attributes and limitations of the framework
• Demonstrated expertise in delivering accessible UI components
• Strong expertise in building highly configurable front-end experiences, with demonstrated competency in CSS frameworks
• Expertise in building performant front-end experiences that meet modern standards for load speed
• Must have demonstrated expertise delivering highly organized, readable, and dry code
• Expertise writing tests for front-end components and UIs (Unit testing, performance testing, E2E testing, integration testing, cross-browser testing)
• Must be passionate about delivering exceptional front-end experiences and working cross-functionally to bring designs to life. Must have an eye for detail, an appreciation of design patterns and what makes an intuitive UI.
• Experience delivery through fully automated CI/CD processes
• Experience supporting production systems and driving customer success
• Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences

The expected salary range for this position is $175,000 - $200,000, dependent on skills and location. The salary range is a good faith estimate based on what a successful candidate might be paid in certain Company locations.
