Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED plus three years work experience in Valve Maintenance to include either Motor Operated Valve Maintenance, Air Operated Valve Maintenance and/or Mechanical Valve Maintenance
  • Testing: EEI MASS Test administered.
  • Meets or exceeds the requirements of ANSI/ANS 3.1, 1978, 4.5.3.
  • Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
  • Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities. These are a condition of employment at PVNGS.
Responsibilities
  • Performs inspections and Engineering-level testing of MOV and AOV actuators to gauge the general condition of the actuator including environmentally qualified components, wiring and hardware.
  • Repairs/refurbishes valve actuators, including mechanical components, cable and wire terminations, and installation of auxiliary equipment. Performs maintenance in accordance with plant procedures and instructions.
  • Performs troubleshooting on MOV, AOV and mechanical valves. Interfaces with supervisory, engineering and planning personnel to provide recommendations for resolving deficiencies.
  • Understands, complies with, and implements complex maintenance/testing/programmatic procedures. Makes recommendations for improvement when needed. Coordinates and works with other maintenance personnel and work groups to complete job assignments.
  • Provides concise, comprehensive documentation of work activities and data obtained in a work package format.
  • Works at becoming qualified to work on all plant equipment and systems through on-the-job training and formal training programs.
  • Uses sound radiation work practices; supports the ALARA concept; and performs and directs fire watches and other safety procedures.
