Requirements
  • Graduation from a Cardiovascular / Ultrasound program or equivalent experience
  • Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, PE) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) certification in Pediatrics by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required
  • Two years minimum pediatric echocardiography work experience in performing M-Mode, 2-D, 3-D, Doppler, and color Doppler
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, and complex congenital heart disease, pre and post-operatively, required
  • Echocardiography experience in the setting of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Cath Lab preferred
  • This position requires travel to outreach locations working with the Pediatric Cardiologist and support team
  • This role requires the incumbent to take call for the Pediatric Echo Lab
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality echocardiograms for interpretation and diagnosis by a Pediatric Cardiologist in a professional manner
  • Enter full preliminary reports and ensure timely documentation
  • Cover all MUSC Pediatric Echo Lab locations and shifts including call rotation
  • Organize and prioritize patient exams and contribute to unit teamwork
  • Perform independent and efficient clinical Pediatric Echo operations in hospital and procedural settings
Desired Qualifications
  • Fetal Echocardiography (FE) preferred
  • Fetal Echocardiography experience and research experience preferred
  • Associate of Arts/Science or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Pediatric Echocardiography Lab experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Pediatric Catheterization Lab preferred
