Requirements
  • Authorized to work in the United States or Canada without sponsorship.
  • Travel onsite with the client approximately 50 percent, including majority of travel within the United States and occasional international travel.
  • Extensive experience in senior leadership or architecture roles such as Enterprise Architect, Strategic Architect, Field Chief Technology Officer, Head of DevOps, Head of Engineering, or Head of a Cloud Center of Excellence.
  • Ability to communicate with C-Level stakeholders and client technical subject-matter experts, and to train or upskill client and colleague engineers.
Responsibilities
  • Build relationships as a trusted technology advisor with clients, guiding and influencing the long-term technical direction of their transformation, and guiding teams through this work.
  • Lead architectural design and drive technology strategy, partner with Strategic Principal to create statements of work, and advise, drive, and evolve the enterprise architecture and points of view in one or more technical domains.
  • Contribute to and evolve the overall strategy for the DevOps technical engagement in collaboration with leadership, Liatrio team members, and the client.
  • Provide broad technical influence and act as a transformational consultant, advocating for DevOps cultural change and removing impediments.
  • Accountable for building, growing, and maintaining Liatrio relationships with CTO/CIO/Chief Architect and executive stakeholders.
  • Set and drive technical roadmaps, architect enterprise solutions, reduce technical debt, provide oversight for workstreams and guide architects and engineers.
  • Anticipate objectives and conflicting points of view; reduce complexity and clarify the most important technical work for clients and Liatrio.
  • Accountable for overall morale and well-being of the Liatrio team.
  • Direct reports include 4-8 team members with coaching/mentoring, weekly 1:1s, and formal feedback monthly and bi-annually.
  • Identify and map team capabilities to client needs, advise on hiring, onboarding, and rotation to prevent burnout.
  • Support strategic principal and sales teams in customer growth and expansion, promote Liatrio, and validate SOWs.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and Liatrio insights to create accelerators for future engagements and support internal efforts.
Desired Qualifications
  • Subject matter expert in one or more areas: Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Architecture, Platform Engineering, Data Center Architecture, Systems Architecture.
  • Experience with build systems such as CircleCI, Argo CD, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab.
  • Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes and Istio.
  • Cloud providers including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud.
  • Observability tools such as Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Grafana, DataDog, or Zipkin.
  • Modern source control management systems and branching strategies; end-to-end automation of software delivery (CI/CD).
  • Training and mentoring others on building solutions and developer behaviors (CI/CD, Domain-Driven Design, Test-Driven Development, Behavior-Driven Development).
  • Pushing patterns and practices to minimize future technical debt.
