Requirements
  • Demonstrate deep expertise in Python 3.13 or newer, including type annotations, asynchronous programming patterns, and modern language features.
  • Have hands-on experience with uv or a similar tool for package management, dependency resolution, and virtual environment handling.
  • Apply SOLID principles and clean architecture to design decoupled, maintainable systems that scale.
  • Design internal REST or gRPC APIs and define clear standard contracts using OpenAPI specifications.
  • Use polars, PyArrow, or Apache Iceberg for efficient large-scale data manipulation and processing within application logic.
  • Connect Python applications to modern data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks for data ingestion and retrieval.
  • Deploy and manage services on Google Cloud Platform using Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and Google Cloud Storage.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, linting, and cloud deployment.
  • Write comprehensive automated test suites using pytest, including fixtures, parameterization, and mocking of external services.
  • Mentor team members through code reviews, architecture decision records, and architecture diagrams.
  • Build or integrate AI agent frameworks and large language model orchestration tools.
  • Use Bash scripting to automate local developer tasks, build processes, or operational utility scripts.
  • Use Git for branching strategies, conflict resolution, and maintaining a clean commit history.
  • Create consistent local development environments and production-ready images with Docker and Docker Compose.
  • Enforce code quality standards using ruff for linting and pyright for strict static type checking.
Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain robust platform services and internal tooling primarily in Python.
  • Design clean, well-typed interfaces and services that scale with growing data volumes and product needs.
  • Develop and own internal APIs that other teams depend on, with strong contracts and documentation.
  • Create high-performance data-processing paths within services to support analytics and ingestion workloads.
  • Deploy and operate Python services on Google Cloud Platform using serverless and managed platforms.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing practices, and developer experience across the platform.
  • Partner with product engineers, data engineers, and leadership to shape platform direction.
  • Write architecture decision records, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation to support scalable decision-making.
  • Mentor other engineers through code reviews, pairing, and pragmatic standards-setting.
