The Southern California Finance Associate will assist the Southern California finance team with planning and executing a fundraising plan for major donors in the Southern California Region of the United States.
This position is based in Los Angeles, CA or Washington, DC. The Southern California Finance Associate will manage regional scheduling and database management, assist with donor prospecting and donor outreach as appropriate, draft written materials, and staff regional finance events. The Southern California Finance Associate reports to the Southern California Finance Director.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Perform research and write briefing materials for internal and external meetings and events.
- Support the Southern California Finance Director with administrative and writing tasks.
- Develop meeting agendas and update weekly reports.
- Help manage regional donor databases and lists.
- Facilitate vetting processes for donors and surrogates.
- Assist with regional call time and email programs.
- Compile news clips and draft monthly newsletters.
- Travel and staff fundraising events in Southern California and across the country as needed.
- Assist with donor prospecting, outreach, and maintenance as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC’s mission.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 1-2 years of committee, government, nonprofit, or campaign finance experience is highly preferred.
- Previous experience using NGP is highly preferred.
- Proficient in Google Suite.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Detail oriented and with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Previous experience with campaign donor research databases.
- Previous experience staffing events.
- A proactive attitude and ability to plan ahead.
The SoCal Finance Associate position will require travel, which could be up to 30% of the time.
The starting salary for the SoCal Finance Associate position is $51,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position, which means you will be eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 in a given workweek, and has an end date of November 15, 2024.
