Requirements
  • Design-minded full-stack engineer with deep React and TypeScript experience
  • Strong sense of product and UX — you care deeply about how things feel, not just how they work
  • Experience building complex, interactive UIs — canvas editors, real-time collaborative tools, visual programming environments, or similarly demanding front-end systems
  • Track record of shipping polished developer tools or creative tools to production
  • Deep understanding of front-end performance — you know how to keep complex interfaces fast and responsive
  • High agency and ownership — on a team this small, you define the roadmap as much as you execute it
  • Comfort working across the stack in a Next.js monorepo; backend work is part of the job
Responsibilities
  • Own the Sim visual canvas — the real-time, drag-and-drop workflow editor at the heart of the product
  • Architect and build the front-end systems that render, connect, and manage complex agent workflows
  • Design the interaction model for how developers create, test, debug, and deploy agents visually
  • Build the bridge between visual flows and the underlying execution engine — ensuring what you see is what runs
  • Drive performance and responsiveness across the editor, even as workflows grow in complexity
  • Shape developer ergonomics and UX patterns across the platform — block configuration, variable wiring, real-time feedback, deployment flows
  • Work across the stack in our Next.js monorepo when needed, shipping to production daily
  • Set front-end standards for the codebase — component architecture, state management, testing patterns
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with real-time systems (WebSockets, CRDTs, or similar)
  • Experience with AWS infrastructure
  • Contributions to open-source projects

Sim Studio builds a visual platform to create, deploy, and manage large language model (LLM) workflows. Its core product Sim provides a drag-and-drop, node-based interface to connect 100+ tools and models (including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini) for designing AI agents, with Sim handling the orchestration. It differentiates itself with a Figma-like visual design, an open-source self-hosted option under Apache-2.0, and an approach that combines MLOps, workflow automation, and AI orchestration in one platform, available as cloud or self-hosted deployments. Goal: help software teams prototype, validate, and scale AI-powered systems quickly and visually.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Sim.ai repositioned as The AI Workspace in March 2026 with Mothership natural-language control plane launched in June.
  • The platform now supports 1,000+ integrations and connects to every major LLM including OpenAI, Claude, and Mistral.
  • Sim secured $7M Series A funding led by Standard Capital with support from Perplexity Fund and YCombinator in 2026.

What critics are saying

  • MongoDB SSRF vulnerability in version 0.5.73 allows unauthorized data deletion with 40–60% probability in 6–12 months.
  • Rapid accumulation of 10 CVEs since 2025 with 8 public exploits undermines enterprise trust with 50–70% probability in 3–6 months.
  • AI-generated code has 72% failure rate in security checks introducing OWASP Top 10 flaws with 45–65% probability in 6–12 months.

What makes Sim unique

  • Sim Studio is an open-source visual canvas for building AI agent workflows designed for developers needing full control.
  • It uses a Figma-like drag-and-drop interface to connect LLMs with over 1,000 tools and models.
  • Sim offers both cloud-hosted SaaS tiers and self-hosted open-source deployment under Apache-2.0 license.
