Responsibilities
  • Lead communications for Chime's policy efforts, including developing messaging and communicating our public positions on important issues to the world
  • Partner directly with members of Chime's Communications, Government Affairs, Legal, Public Affairs, and Community team and lead communications strategy for policy priorities ensuring message consistency across the broader business
  • Build reactive and proactive communications plans and strategies using all channels
  • Help field in-bound press inquiries related to policy matters and build new and deepen existing relationships with policy media
  • Partner with internal leaders, and external organizations, to grow Chime and industry priorities through thoughtful engagements and storytelling
  • Develop written materials, including company messaging and statements, press releases, communications plans, FAQs, and other collateral
  • Be a spokesperson on crucial media interactions, including policy and crisis communications, and issues that might affect our business and corporate reputation
  • 8-10 years of experience or related experience leading policy communications in a Congressional, regulatory or public policy context or for a technology or financial services company or trade association
  • Deep understanding of policy, regulatory and political landscape in a highly regulated industry
  • Media relations experience and established relationships with related reporters, policymakers and partners that are impactful in this space
  • Exceptional writing and editing capabilities, as well as strong verbal communication, digital and data visualization skills with an ability to process and convey complex information and data in succinct and compelling ways with diverse audiences
  • A knack for creative storytelling and a desire to find innovative ways to engage policy audiences, regulators and partners and build coalitions to help achieve public policy objectives
  • Proven experience working with and leading cross-functional teams and with multiple stakeholders to collectively execute on priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A self-starter demeanor and a bias for action, including the ability to operate in ambiguous environments and quickly learn and adapt to emerging issues and dynamics
  • Curiosity, creative thinking, and a sense of humor
  • Passion and a belief in our mission
